Heart Check Up
I went to my family doctor today for my yearly heart check-up. My heart beats too fast and could cause me to have a heart attack. I've been on medicine for it since 2006 and has kept it under control. My appointment went great and he said everything is working as it should and the medicine is doing its job and to just continue taking it. Whoo hoo finally some good news and one less thing to worry about! My next appointment is Tuesday for my ultrasound of my ovaries, so I will post with an update from that appointment afterwards!

Doctors
I am completely exhausted after my day of doctors visits! First up was the gynecologist in Newburgh. Andrew went along for moral support all though when we pulled in the parking lot he said, " I'm nervous and it isn't even me seeing the doctor!" I was like well thanks! He sat very nicely in the waiting room until I was done. My main concern for this doctor was my weight. Over the past four years I have gain about 75 pounds. I though maybe it was because of the birth control but she informed me that birth control does not make you gain weight, it is a misconception and basically something to blame. So she did a write up for about 5 different lab panels and I have to go have blood work done. They will be testing my thyroid, hormone levels, and metabolism amoung others. I was also having pains in my pelvic area so she ordered an ultrasound for next Tuesday to rule out any cysts or other abnormalities. The gyno was shocked as to what birth control my family doctor had me on. Apparently it is a very high dose of a certain hormone and isn't a commonly used birth control. She said some insurances won't pay for it because it is very expensive and she was really shocked when I said I only pay $24 a month for it. She wrote me up a new prescription for a different birth control as well. She said she would really like to take me off of it all thogether and let my body adjusts itself back to normal, but this just isn't a good time for that! I should know the results of the ultrasound the same day and will post an update, but it will probably be a couple weeks before I know anything from the lab work.
Next up was the dermatologist. I still have acne and I'm almost 22 years old and tired of still dealing with breakouts! I also have a lot of scarring on my chest from acne and was hoping to be able to do something to "fix" it. I was a little disappointed when he told me there wasn't anything he could do about the scars. He said scars are scars and can't be fixed, what can be fixed is whatever is causing the scars. In my case, acne. So he talked to me about a pill called Accutane. It is a very serious medicaton and comes with a lot of baggage. I can NOT get pregnant a month before I start the medication, while on the medication, or a month after I stop taking it. This medicine causes severe birth defects and is taken very seriously. I have to go into the office every month for a pregnancy test, evaluation, and chlosterol test. They won't give me the prescription in less my pregnancy test comes back negative and I only have 7 days to get the prescription filled. It's some pretty serious stuff! I am registered in the government program and I cannot donate blood! I don't start the medication until next month when I go back next month.
Tomorrow is the doctor appointment for my heart and I will update again with that information tomorrow!

The normal busy life
As usual we've been very busy! Summer school started last week and so we have added that to our already busy list. I've been trying to work on wedding stuff, but I just get frustrated and overwhelmed, it's so much work and so expensive! We are still having a summer wedding on September 18, 2010 and our colors are going to be mainly pink and orange but there will be lime green and blue too. There's a lake in New Harmony behind the New Harmony Inn that we are looking into getting married by. Andrew and I had our senior pictures taken in front of the same lake. We don't have much down time so I'm trying to keep up with our blog the best I can. We are both of next Monday (June 22) but I have two doctors appointments that will take up most of the day. Andrew is going to be going along with me for moral support, lol! I hate doctors! I am ready for these appointments though and ready to hopefully get some answers. Hopefully nothing major is wrong and whatever is wrong can be easily treated. I could definitely use some extra thoughts and prayers my way! I will be sure to let everyone know what I find out next Monday at the Doctors. We hope everyone has a great week!
