Medical Update

So I still don't know much, but I will update on what I do know! I had an ultrasound on Tuesday to make sure I don't have any cysts or anything and they also measured my reproductive organs. Everything on that came back good. Good news but still unsure of why I have the pain in my lower left side. They also called me on Thursday and said they had the results on my pap smear and that everything with that came back good as well! I went this morning to have my blood work done at Deaconess. I had been fasting since 8:30 the Thursday night so I was ready to get it done and over with so I could have a drink! I hate having blood work done so my mom went with me for support and told me if I was good I could have a small milk shake! I'm lactose intolerant so that was a big treat for me! We got there at 9:30 and sat for an hour and 20 minutes while this poor women with two little boys and another one on the way tried to calm her screaming child. He cried the whole time we were there! I finally got to go back and one look at my veins and the nurse was like, great! I have no veins that show in the bend of my elbow where they usually take blood. She tried and tried and even gave me a stress ball to squeeze. She gave it a shot and finally got a vein, but not blood! I had to fast for one of the test which makes it harder to get the blood to come out of your veins. The nurse was super nice and then decided to try her own little trick. She filled a latex glove with hot water and I held it on the top of my hand to "warm" my veins up. She stuck me again, this time in the top of my hand and it worked! I was very good and even watched the huge syringe fill up with blood! Finally at 11:00 we were out of there and I got my milk shake! I won't know anything from that for a week or two, but I will be sure to update everyone with any news I find out. I'm pretty anxious myself and at this point hope they find something!

With my blood work done I will now be able to enjoy my three-day weekend, even though it's suppose to rain :-( Oh Well! Andrew and I are going out to dinner tonight and then coming home to enjoy our subdivision fire works. We had a good time at the block party last year so hopefully we'll have fun this year as well. They put on a really good show and I'm excited to see what they have up their sleeve this year. We'll have a swimming pool full of firework remains tomorrow but that's ok! My mom is smoking some ribs for dinner tomorrow and we will be having a big cookout tomorrow and Sunday! yummmm! I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe 4th of July!

Heart Check Up

I went to my family doctor today for my yearly heart check-up. My heart beats too fast and could cause me to have a heart attack. I've been on medicine for it since 2006 and has kept it under control. My appointment went great and he said everything is working as it should and the medicine is doing its job and to just continue taking it. Whoo hoo finally some good news and one less thing to worry about! My next appointment is Tuesday for my ultrasound of my ovaries, so I will post with an update from that appointment afterwards!

Doctors

I am completely exhausted after my day of doctors visits! First up was the gynecologist in Newburgh. Andrew went along for moral support all though when we pulled in the parking lot he said, " I'm nervous and it isn't even me seeing the doctor!" I was like well thanks! He sat very nicely in the waiting room until I was done. My main concern for this doctor was my weight. Over the past four years I have gain about 75 pounds. I though maybe it was because of the birth control but she informed me that birth control does not make you gain weight, it is a misconception and basically something to blame. So she did a write up for about 5 different lab panels and I have to go have blood work done. They will be testing my thyroid, hormone levels, and metabolism amoung others. I was also having pains in my pelvic area so she ordered an ultrasound for next Tuesday to rule out any cysts or other abnormalities. The gyno was shocked as to what birth control my family doctor had me on. Apparently it is a very high dose of a certain hormone and isn't a commonly used birth control. She said some insurances won't pay for it because it is very expensive and she was really shocked when I said I only pay $24 a month for it. She wrote me up a new prescription for a different birth control as well. She said she would really like to take me off of it all thogether and let my body adjusts itself back to normal, but this just isn't a good time for that! I should know the results of the ultrasound the same day and will post an update, but it will probably be a couple weeks before I know anything from the lab work.

Next up was the dermatologist. I still have acne and I'm almost 22 years old and tired of still dealing with breakouts! I also have a lot of scarring on my chest from acne and was hoping to be able to do something to "fix" it. I was a little disappointed when he told me there wasn't anything he could do about the scars. He said scars are scars and can't be fixed, what can be fixed is whatever is causing the scars. In my case, acne. So he talked to me about a pill called Accutane. It is a very serious medicaton and comes with a lot of baggage. I can NOT get pregnant a month before I start the medication, while on the medication, or a month after I stop taking it. This medicine causes severe birth defects and is taken very seriously. I have to go into the office every month for a pregnancy test, evaluation, and chlosterol test. They won't give me the prescription in less my pregnancy test comes back negative and I only have 7 days to get the prescription filled. It's some pretty serious stuff! I am registered in the government program and I cannot donate blood! I don't start the medication until next month when I go back next month.
Tomorrow is the doctor appointment for my heart and I will update again with that information tomorrow!

The normal busy life

As usual we've been very busy! Summer school started last week and so we have added that to our already busy list. I've been trying to work on wedding stuff, but I just get frustrated and overwhelmed, it's so much work and so expensive! We are still having a summer wedding on September 18, 2010 and our colors are going to be mainly pink and orange but there will be lime green and blue too. There's a lake in New Harmony behind the New Harmony Inn that we are looking into getting married by. Andrew and I had our senior pictures taken in front of the same lake. We don't have much down time so I'm trying to keep up with our blog the best I can. We are both of next Monday (June 22) but I have two doctors appointments that will take up most of the day. Andrew is going to be going along with me for moral support, lol! I hate doctors! I am ready for these appointments though and ready to hopefully get some answers. Hopefully nothing major is wrong and whatever is wrong can be easily treated. I could definitely use some extra thoughts and prayers my way! I will be sure to let everyone know what I find out next Monday at the Doctors. We hope everyone has a great week!

Rough Week

Last week was pretty rough, we lost a friend to suicide and it left a lot of us asking why. Sean Stevens took his own life on May 13, 2009 at the age of 18. I grew up with Sean and have many childhood memories with Sean and his brothers. He is one of four boys, his older brother was killed a year and a half ago in a car accident and now Sean (the baby of the bunch) has gone to join his brother Jason. We wonder why, and we'll never know, but we know he isn't hurting anymore, that he's safe and he's been reunited with his older brother. I will always remember Sean as the little boy with a baby face and dimpled smile that could light up a room. I just keep replaying my entire childhood, swimming, bringing Barbies over to your house when your mom baby-sat me, playing in the dirt at the ball fields, there's just so many. I love you Sean and miss you everyday. It's still hard to believe you're really gone, but I know you and Jason are watching over us all. You'll never be forgotten, Rest In Peace Seany!

This weekend we have been pretty busy. Yesterday I cleaned me and Andrews bedroom from floor to ceiling and washed all of our bedding and curtains. Today I washed my Jeep inside and out, got all the laundry caught up, mowed the yard, and we have been working on getting the pool ready for Summer. As usual the weekend flew by, but I did accomplish a lot! Go me! I also want to send a shout out to my friend Ashley and say Congrats on your new job! She will be starting June 1st as a full-time Teller at Integra Bank! Way to go Ashley! In School news, only a couple more weeks until summer school starts, boo!! I'm so ready to be done! December can't come fast enough. I have been thinking and I would really like to go to beauty school once I receive my business degree and get my cosmetology license. I've always loved that sort of stuff and have been doing hair anyway for years. Andrew isn't so sure about it, but either am I! One of these days I will decide what I want to be when I grow up! Well I hope everyone has a great week!

Stressed, but still here!

I know I haven't been keeping up with our blog like I should, but man our we busy! Next weeks is finals and between papers and studying I am stressed to the max. After Thursday Andrew and I will both be done with school for three or four weeks! Thank Goodness, we could both use a break. Then summer school starts, but at least it's only 8 weeks long. In car news Andrew is moving right along on getting his car all put back together. He got his motor back last week and little by little has been getting everything ready for it to actually go back in the car. He's been working really hard and it's looking good! In wedding news, we are thinking about changing our colors! We are so indecisive! We both like the new colors better, but it means not having a fall wedding, which then means changing the date of the wedding also! Te new colors we are looking at are: lime green, hot pink, and orange as the main colors and some yellow and bluish color mixed in. Andrew thought I was crazy when I was describing it to him, but then I showed him a picture of a bouquet and he really liked it. We both agree it's more us! Wish us luck on our finals this week!

Busy as Always!

We are still as busy as ever! Last weekend we spent Easter with my family and had a very nice visit. I am so glad the weather is starting to warm up, but it's taking a toll on my allergies. oh well as long as it's warm I can live through it. Today I went and ordered my bridesmaid dress for my friend Ashley's wedding in September and saw some beautiful wedding gowns! I can't wait to start looking for dresses, but I have some time! Andrew and I are going out tonight! Yippee! I am thrilled to spend some quality alone time with him, it definitely doesn't happen often enough. Tomorrow my friends Ashley and I are going to have a hair coloring party! We both picked some drastic colors, so I will let you know how that goes! Just thought I would catch everyone up on what's going on while I wait for Andrew! We also need to send a shout out today:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE DONALD!!

Branson Trip

Last week Andrew and I were on Spring Break from school and were lucky enough to get away for a few days. Andrews Aunt Debbie and Uncle Donald rented a condo in Branson, MO and invited us to join them. We packed up and left Thursday when Andrew got off work and came home on Sunday. We stopped by my uncle Timmy's house on the way home for a quick visit as well. Andrew's little brother joined us on the trip and we all had so much fun! We did lots of shopping, went to the Ripley' s Believe it or Not Museum, ate at Joe's Crab Shack, and rode the ducks. Yep, that's what I said, rode the ducks. It's a military vehicle that was invented to travel on land and then go into the water like a boat. They modified it and now use it as a tourist attraction. We went up in the mountains and saw a beautiful view of Branson and then onto the lake where I held onto Andrew for dear life. I HATE boats!! It was fun and Captain Ron made it very enjoyable. We had a great time and can't thank Donald and Debbie enough for such an awesome trip!

One Year Ago

Today marks the one year anniversary of my grandpa's death. I can't believe it's been one year already. I miss him so much and even after a year I'm still not completely over his death. It just all happened so fast, too fast. I wish he was here, but then I remember the pain he was in and realize he's in a better place. It kills me to think he's not going to see me walk down the aisle next year or hold my children. I loved him so much he was "My grandpa" and I was his Lisa Marie or Little Britches, haha. My grandma always said she didn't know who was ate up with who more. I wish I could feel his scruffy face for one last kiss. I still remember how he always smelled like chewing tobacco and Irish spring soap. Today's a rough day but we will all get through it, because we know he's always with us. Writing this is the first time I've cried today and then I laughed, because I can hear grandpa saying just as he did a year ago, "Stop your crying, my girls are much prettier when they're smiling." I love you grandpa and I miss you every day and just as you promised I'll see you again one day!

Can't Wait To Get Away!

Finally, it's spring break!!! Andrew and I will be leaving Thursday when we get off work to go up to Branson! whoohooo, a much needed break for both of us! Andrew's Aunt Debbie and Uncle Donald planned the trip for us and rented a condo, so we are looking forward to spending some time with them as well as being away. In house news we are waiting a couple weeks before we make an offer, it is said that the interest rates could drop an entire percent within the next couple of weeks, so we will see about that! Yesterday my friend Ashley and I decided on a spur of the moment kind of thing that we wanted to go get mystic tans. So off we went to Evansville where we both had our first mystic tan experience. I was a little scared, I didn't want to be orange or blotchy, but I am very satisfied with the results! It looks just like a normal tan and it only took 60 seconds(and then 6 hours for it to take full effect) and Andrews debit card and I am no longer Casper! We really had a great weekend! Andrew and I went out Saturday night and got to enjoy some us time. Andrew also bought me a really cute pair of shoes, but I don't really have anything to wear them with, hmmm I guess that's why we're going to Branson! Well that was our fun filled weekend, I will def. post again when we get back from our trip and try to put up some new pics!! I also have to say:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY!!!

Weekend Together!

Andrew and I finally got spend some much needed time together this weekend! I cooked dinner Saturday night (Nacho Cheese Chicken, home-made mashed potatoes, broccoli and rice casserole, and crescent rolls) and then we went and spent some time at my grandmas. My grandma used to be a realtor so we ran some numbers with her on a house. It seems like Andrew and I can afford to move out and buy our first house!! As excited as we are it's also very scary! With the new tax cut Obama passed for first time homeowners it's kind of hard to pass up. So we shall see where this all goes and if we're getting ahead of ourselves. We stayed up until 2 o'clock this morning talking and running some more numbers, it's a lot to think about. Needless to say we didn't get out of bed until about 10:30 this morning, but I did fix Granny Annie's famous chocolate gravy and biscuits this morning. Andrew has been asking for it for two weeks and I finally made it. Gotta love good ol' Arkansas cookin! Today is also my dad's birthday, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!

So Im A Slacker!

I know it's been awhile since I updated this thing, but I'm a busy woman, OK?! We don't have any new wedding news, we're just kind of letting it all go until it gets closer. There's no need to stress about it now. I'm still trying to lose weight. It's been a little over two weeks and I've lost around 5 pounds. Not much, but enough to let me know what I'm doing is working. I just wish it would all come off like right now!! I've been counting calories and trying to just eat healthier all around. I am also working out with my friend Ashley six days a week. We play tennis, walk/run, or do a biggest loser workout DVD that we have. We're actually enjoying it, but it makes for a long day! Two more weeks and we will be on spring break from school!! Andrew and I both desperately need a break from school, we will still be working, but it will be nice to not have to worry about school for a week. Andrew and I are trying to plan a weekend to go up to St.Louis in the near future to see his Uncle Donald and Aunt Debbie and My Uncle Timmy and family. A mini vacation would be very nice! Keep your fingers crossed we can work it out!

Busy Busy Busy

We have been so busy the last couple of weeks! I cannot wait until I am finished with school. We don't really have any new wedding news. I still have people I need to ask about being in the wedding party, but I feel like I never have time to do anything. We are also leaning towards an outdoor wedding, but I'm still not sure if I want to deal with the stress of the weather. That's about all in the wedding department. I have started a new diet and it seems to be going pretty good, I've kept with it for a week and a half so I am making progress. I have also added exercising to my busy life. My friend Ashley and I are going to start working out on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. So my already hectic life just got even more hectic. Here is a look at my how my week goes:
Monday- Leave house by 6:20 am, work till 5:00, school till 11 pm
Tuesday-Leave house by 6:20 am, work till 5:30, dinner with Jacquelyn, Home at 8 pm, workout

Valentine's and Weddings

We hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day!! We really didn't do a whole lot since my ring was my Valentine's Day present, but Andrew couldn't wait to give it tom me.haha. We did our own thing during the day and Andrew went junk yarding with his buddy and I went with my friends Ashley to look for her wedding dress. She's getting married and September and Andrew and I are both in the wedding. She found her perfect dress and we picked out the bridesmaid dresses and tuxes and I went ahead and got sized for mine. We had so much fun!! Andrew and I met back at home at 4:30 and went up to Koodie Hoo's and had dinner with my mom and Steve and Grandma. Afterwards we came back home and Josh and Ashley came over. Andrew and Josh played in the garage while Ashley and I researched wedding things. All in all it was a great weekend! We have made some progress deciding the wedding party. Andrew's new "Love"

Well, no more news about the wedding yet, we are so busy during the week between school and work that the only time Andrew and I see each other is coming and going. I'm hoping at some point this weekend we can sit down and talk about at least a little bit about wedding plan. So we shall see! I other news Andrew has a new project (Can you hear the excitement in my voice? j/k)! He bought a 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass and has been working on in it any chance he gets. So needless to say I've been bored out of my mind and not to fond of Andrew new "Love." I'm glad he's happy, but I would be happier if he at least devoted a little time to me (maybe dinner? a movie? hint hint). But because I love him I will post a couple pictures of the new ride.

Super Bride Sunday!!

So today was super bride Sunday in Evansville and I ventured out to see what it was all about. It was awesome!! I went solo because everyone else was too busy, but I just had to go. There were booths everywhere and I think I signed up to win about a million things. I also have an apt Feb.21 at Davids Bridal to try some wedding dresses on. It's early and more than likely I won't get my dress but the lady insisted I come in and get an idea of what I want and if I start looking now I won't feel so pressured to find the perfect dress. So we shall see, I know mom and grandma will be going with me, but I'm not sure if anyone else is or not. Another big announcement......the date is official, October 9, 2010!!! yippee, we have made some progress. We are still discussing colors, although I'm pretty dead set on what I want, but it is Andrew's wedding too. We will be trying to figure out the wedding party within the next couple weeks and I will post a list after we decide and everyone is notified. I also brought like eight samples of cake home and Andrew and I tasted each one, we both agreed the chocolate chip was the best. I know leave it up to us to have a chocolate chip wedding cake. haha. That's def. not official yet, but it sure was good. Well, I will keep everyone up to date with anything new that comes along, we hope everyone has a great week!

Concerts and Birthdays

Last night my mom and grandma went to the Toby Kieth Concert in Evansville. It was her Christmas present from Steve and she was more than excited. Grandma loves Toby Kieth! In her words "he's such a rebel and pure sex from his head to his toes!" Whoa Grandma! They Both enjoyed the concert and made it safely home by 11:30. Mom had to to work today so she's going on only a few hours of sleep :( BEWARE!! Today is also Jacquelyn's 21st Birthday!! Yea, she's finally legal. Andrew and I will be going out tonight to help her celebrate! Once again Happy Birthday Jacq!

Grandma def. had a good time!

Happy Birthday Jacquelyn Ann!

Back to Normal....Well Almost!!

Well, we all returned to our normal lives for the most part today! Everyone went back to work and made it safely back home. Steve finally has electricity and we are all very grateful. The roads are finally starting to become clear and drivable. I stopped at CVS on my way home to get a magazine and something sweet to eat and it was a madhouse! People with power are grouchy and even more so when the store doesn't have batteries to put in their flashlights! Hopefully the snow and ice move out over the weekend, I'm counting down the days until Spring!

In the wedding department, we have somewhat agreed on a date. It's not official by any means, but we are thinking October, 9, 2010 (10/9/10). I would like to have a fall wedding and showed Andrew some examples and he seems to be ok with it. It seems like forever away, but at the same time I think, oh my I have so much to do! We will let everyone know when we officially decide on a date so stay tuned!

We hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!!

We thought this would give everyone a good laugh, apparently Andrew didn't know the picture was being taken!

Winter Wonderland

Well we have been without power since 2 o'clock this morning! We lit some candles and turned the radio on WIKY, they said it may be the weekend before it is back on and Posey County is under a state of emergency. Andrew drove down the road to work and came back, and said if we're going to grandmas we've gotta go now! So at 6:00 this morning we called grandma and told her we were on our way with dogs in tote! Everyone packed a bag for a couple days, in case we aren't able to go back home. So here it is 7:30 in the morning and we're all up watching it snow! Hopefully I can catch some z's later, as of right now I'm just grateful to be safe and warm. I'll post some pictures later of the winter mess, until then stay warm!

*update--- Our power came back on yesturday afternoon!!

We're Engaged!

Well after 5 years and 3 months of dating Andrew and I are officially engaged! Friday night we went to the movies with friends of ours (Josh and Ashley). We saw the new mall cop movie, which I don't recommend wasting your money on, it just wasn't that good. Anyway, we got home a little after 11pm and mom was staying at Steve's so it was just us. We were standing in the kitchen and I was messing with something and Andrew asked me if I wanted my Valentine's Day present. I started to turn around and say I don't care and as I turned around he had my ring in his hand and said, will you marry me? I said Oh my god, are you serious, do you promise? He then proceeded to tell me that the two diamonds on each side of my original diamond are out of my grandma's engagement ring that my grandpa gave her. I started to cry like crazy. Andrew knows how much I miss my grandpa and to have something like that from him means the world to me. Not to mention having my grandma's diamonds. The diamond in the middle was Andrew's great grandma's diamond and is over 100 years old, they don't make diamonds like it anymore. Needless to say I have the most gorgeous, sentimental ring ever and the best boyfriend, oops I mean fiance! I decided since our families are scattered around everywhere having this blog would help keep everyone up to date on the wedding plans and such. Right now we're just soaking it all in and enjoying being engaged. The only thing we know thus far is we are thinking about sometime between September and November of 2010! Well I'll keep you posted! We love and miss everyone!
